The owners of a older home in Lincoln, wanted to remodel their bathroom and install a new shower that was wheel chair accessible, with grab bars, and hand held shower.
We decided to go with a 42″ x 42″ tile ready shower pan, which can save lots of time on a slab or wood floor. with a slab you would have to saw cut the concrete and recess the slab to make it wheel chair accessible for a tile installation.
With the tile ready shower pan you can install it flush on the floor, without removing any concrete and there is no need for hot mopping.
We also installed a new moen hand held shower with an adjustable bar, brushed chrome grab bars.
We upgraded their toilet to a white american standard cadet 3 1.6 gallon flush toilet, new molded one piece sink and vanity top, with a moen single handle faucet. New towel bars and toilet paper holder.
We replaced old copper water piping with pex water piping and installed new lead free shutoff valves ( angle stops ).
The home owners are very happy with the upgrades in their bathroom as they had not used it for many years.
So if you are thinking of installing a new shower and wanting it to be ADA accessible, a tile ready shower pan maybe the way too go!
