Minerals in water

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR WATER HEATER IN RURAL PLACER COUNTY !

The water supply for most rural homes in Placer County comes from a well !
This can be a big problem for your WATER HEATER and also COPPER WATER LINES.as many wells in the area have different types of minerals that can cause major damage to your Water Heater and Water System.
The minerals can cause your Water Heater to RUST out several years before it should, the average life of a gas tank type Water Heater is 8 to 12 years.
So to help with this problem, you should have your water tested and if you have a high mineral count. Have a filter system built for your water needs, just by installing any old water filter or softener may be a waste of time and money.
Calcium can be one of the most damaging minerals in your water on Water Heaters and on your Water System.

Example I installed a gas Water Heater in a new home a little over a year ago. I installed a filter system the home owner had provided. They said they had tested the water and it was the right filter system. ( wrong ) They called and said they had NO HOT WATER. On checking things out the hot water side of the water heater had plugged up due to all the minerals on the anode rod which helps collect most of the minerals. You will see in the picture how it had almost eaten the rod in half !
Now for them it is time to get the right filter system for there needs !

Don’t forget to flush your water heater every so often to give it a longer life!
